My dad has taught me so much.
My dad owns his own business, he has for the last 20 years, which is the only thing I ever remember him doing. He has done so much for our family, more than I ever realized while growing up. When I was younger, if we wanted to see my dad, we want to the pizza shop. He worked 100+hr work weeks so my mom could stay home with us. Friday and Saturday nights we spent in the office of the store while my dad, mom and oldest sister worked. Dad paid us a penny a box for folding pizza boxes!
My dad was teaching me the work ethic I have now, even when I folded pizza boxes! I think I was 8 when my sister and I started our paper route, we did this for about 4 years. When I was 12, I wanted what every 12 year old wants, a dirt bike! Well my parents told me to work and save up if that’s what I really wanted! So I did! My dad has supported me in everything I have ever wanted to do.
Now it’s my chance, to use the things my dad taught me over the last 24 years, to raise my kids. There’s nothing I can ever give back to show my dad how much all those long work weeks meant to me. All the skills he has taught me even if it wasn’t because he was home. My dad is what I would call a “behind the scene’s” kinda guy, he does so much that no one ever sees, and never cares if he gets recognized for it!
Thanks for being the hardworking and supportive man that you are, I hope I can make you proud by using the things you taught me! I love you dad. Thank you!
